I was recently introduced to science historian James Burk and the documentary television series, Connections, which he wrote and narrated in 1978. There were ten episodes in total and I believe they are all available online for your viewing pleasure. I found them on youtube broken into five clips of ten minute intervals per episode. I watched three episodes and found this documentary has inspired me.
I’ve started thinking about ideas for our first project using a similar concept that James Burk presents in this series. He discusses various discoveries, blunders, accidents, scientific advancements, and historical moments throughout the world in an interconnected way that ultimately links to aspects of our modern culture and technology. Granted his series is a little dated, but the context of his series is what I think I’d like to focus on.
My initial idea is creating an iPad History WebApp for history buffs on the go! That would allow users to search various topics using a GUI that would scan through a database presenting an alternate way of looking at history based on the search topic. I haven’t figured out how the search results would be presented yet, but it’s a potential start! Any thoughts, questions, opinions, please feel free to comment.

That sounds like a great and ambitious idea! I have no idea what apps can do/are available for the iPad, but I doubt there is one quite like your idea. I’m sure they don’t really need another game app, haha. At the very least, you could design the GUI to at least introduce the possibility.
